On July 15, 2011, Pathfinder pioneer and author of the International Pathfinder theme song “Pathfinder Strong,” died in Oakhurst, CA, USA, according to his daughter, Judi.
Pathfinders around the globe have sung this often translated, more often sung song “Oh we are the Pathfinder’s Strong, the servants of God are we, faithful as we march along, in kindness, truth and purity. A message to tell to the world, a truth that will set us free, King Jesus the Savior’s coming back, for you and me…..” in hundreds of Pathfinder Clubs, Churches and Camporees the words and music to this song given to a young youth director in 1948 will continue to be our theme song for Pathfinders around the world.

Over 1000 Seventh-day Adventist young people marched through the streets of George Town on Sabbath afternoon; bearing placards denouncing the use of tobacco and other dangerous drugs. The march started at the George Town Church and wound its way through the streets of the capital before culminating with a grand youth rally at the Annex Playing Field, the major sporting complex in central George Town.
The colourful and energetic drum core led the way with uniformed Adventurers and Pathfinders following. The members of the various churches then followed wearing their church colors and waving banners and signs promoting healthful living.
As they traveled through the picturesque town square, traffic had to be delayed at times, but the many onlookers seem delighted at the spectacle and gladly received the witnessing material which was being distributed. Read the rest of this entry »

The Orion Club of Adventurers and Pathfinders ages 6-15 distributed hot soup and meals to shut-ins in the Bodden Town community on January 1, 2010. Thirteen yougnsters and their leaders distributed a total of 67 meals between Lower Valley and Pease Bay.
It has been a tradition for several years for the Club to do so around Christmas time, but this year we chose New Year’s day, because most of the shut-ins receive meals from other sources on Christmas Day, but not necessarily on New Year’s Day. This is the third year the Orion Club put on a concert called The Feast of Lights, at Christmas time and took up an offering to defray the cost of the meals.
This year over $300.00 were collected and members of the Bodden Town Seventh-day Adventist Church contributed the food and/or by prepared the meals while the children assisted with the sharing out and distirbution of the meals lst Firday. On their visits to members and non-members of the church, the children along with their leaders shared Chirstian literature together with the meals.
The children found it rewarding to help these community members and enjoyed taking time to pray with those they visited so much so that they plan to repeat their visits on a monthly basis realizing that these folk need to see other people. It was truly a joy to see the smiles on the faces of the shut-ins, says Club Director Carla McLaughlin.

Pathfinder Day & Investiture 2009 was a day never to forget. Did you hear about it? The pomp and pageantry of the Gideon Pathfinder Band as the color guards took their positions. As the drums rolled, the trumpets sounded, the cymbals clashed, you could hear footsteps marching to the rhythm of the music as the Little Lambs, Adventurers, Pathfinders, Master Guides and PLA officers entered the sanctuary.
Jesus has no other hands but ours. I know you would have been captivated if you were there and saw those beautiful hands signing – “Show Me Your Way” and when the choir sang “It is to You” the presence of God was made complete in the Divine Hour worship service; as Guide Kristen McLean presented the sermon, under the theme “Jesus or Nothing”
The church sat in reverence and awe as she expounded and hammered in the message laid on her heart by the Lord. We were indeed transported to heavenly portals. Read the rest of this entry »

His sermon was based on the passage Hebrews 12: 1-3 and was entitled, “Shake, Run, Look…You are a Winner,”. In his message Pastor Muganda encouraged the young people to keep their eyes on Jesus because they are winners, and not to give up on Jesus. He admonished them, “Don’t give up on the Bible! Don’t give up on the Pathfinder and Master Guide movement! You are in the right place because we are training you to be Christian runners and so when we give you all these things we are preparing you to be winners”. Read the rest of this entry »
